Remote Learning Resources To Make Use Of The Lockdown
aRemote learning resources to make use of the lockdown
Stuck at home? Why not use the time you have to educate yourself a little bit? There are plenty of remote learning resources that you can use to boost your skills in a whole host of areas. Here are some of my favorites.
YouTube
Yep! YouTube is so much more than a hotbed of funny cat videos. If you dig around the site (and it won’t take much digging), you will be able to find a ton of information on just about anything you want to learn. Hundreds and hundreds of hours of content, and you won’t even need to spend a cent to watch any of it!
Code Academy
Ever wanted to learn how to code and didn’t know the best way to do it? (or simply didn’t have the time?), well hop on over to Code Academy. You can learn how to code in some popular programming knowledges. Who knows, this may actually help you to improve your job prospects once the economy is back up and running.
MIT
That’s right. One of the best colleges in the world has a ton of free courses that you can dive into! You can even earn a qualification at the end of them (just to show that you completed a MIT course, albeit a free one). One of the best things is that MIT is increasing the number of free courses that they have to offer during the lockdown. While not a lot of subjects are covered (it is a technological college after all), there are still a few bits and pieces that may interest you.
UN Courses
If you head on over to the United Nations website (https://unric.org/en/sharpen-your-skills-during-lockdown-with-united-nations-e-learning-courses/), you will find that they have a TON of free elearning courses you can follow. A lot of these have been put together for UN staff and various non-profits, but you can still learn a lot from them. You will be surprised at the subject that are covered to. There are courses on human rights, food and agriculture, IMF, migration etc. Sure, they are UN-heavy topics, but they are topics not touched by similar sites.
Remember; you should always be furthering yourself as a person when it comes to education. This is something that should never stop. Education is the absolute key to growth as a person. Maybe one day, you can pass on your knowledge to others.
