7 Reasons Why We Shouldn’t Worry As Much As We Do
To be or not to be, that is the question. Is this your life purpose or is it destiny? The line between the two is a fine one, but it is very much there. You can decide what your purpose in life is – but will it turn out to be your destiny?
Ultimately, there is NO way of knowing what’s around the next corner in life. You cannot control every aspect of your life journey. So is it really worth all the anxiety in the end? There are two things that are definite in life: you are born AND you will die.
Everything in between is all up to you!
Here Are Reasons Why You Don’t Worry About Anything After All
1) Everything Happens For a Reason
This is either the worst saying in the world or the truest. It all depends on who is on the receiving end of it. Usually, when something you really want didn’t work out, someone will always say that everything happens for a reason.
It’s a stupidly frustrating phrase that almost always leaves us asking “Why?”
You are left feeling cheated. But there is some truth to the phrase that makes you want to stab someone in the ear. The fact is that, things really DO happen for a reason. It’s just not clear to you yet. It could be that you were not in the right frame of mind for that particular thing to happen.
The reality is that in some small way, you were just not ready for it yet. Don’t worry: the next time you hear the dreaded phrase, take a closer look. You will see that there really was a reason behind it all.
2) When the Silver Lining Isn’t Clear Enough
So even though you are feeling pretty bummed out that whatever you were looking forward to did not happen, there is a silver liningafter all.
Sometimes, it’s just hidden behind the clouds and you can’t see it. Most of the time, it is our own ego which blinds us from seeing the hidden blessings. We get angry and disappointed because we didn’t get what we wanted. But is it what we needed? What we want and what we need are two totally different things.
When our ego gets in the way, it stops us from having an open mind. It prevents us from seeing the bigger picture in the end. You need to push your ego aside so that you can have your “Aha” moment. It’s then, that you will realize that it just was not meant for you.
3) Selfish or Selfless?
Selfish people only think about themselves. Their decisions are based solely on their own well-being and they will trample on anyone to get where they need to be.
Selfless people on the other hand, would rather uplift someone else before themselves. In our lives, we need to consider how we approach a certain opportunity.
Are we trampling over other people just to get ahead? Are we allowing everyone to get ahead of us? Sometimes, an opportunity is not really meant for us. But we will pursue it relentlessly and at the cost of others. Other times, it’s the perfect opportunity, but we let it slide by because we are too comfortable.
The bottom line is that, opportunity only knocks ONCE. You need to decide if you are going to grab it or leave it for someone else. Don’t worry, when the time comes, you’ll know.
4) Sprout Some Seeds
Have you ever sown a bunch of seeds only to have them not come up? It’s extremely disappointing, and not to mention annoying.
We need to treat our life affirmations like little seedlings. We need to plant them in the right conditions so that they can grow into strong healthy plants. Planting them alone is simply just not enough. They need to be nurtured daily.
Sow your affirmations out into your daily life. Then nurture and grow them until you can reap the fruits of you labor. Tend to your affirmations everyday and you will start to see them sprouting in your life. If you are sowing negative affirmations, then you will only be growing thick, cloying weeds.
Sow only positive affirmations into your life and don’t worry about those weeds.
5) Is That Really The Best Option?
Has it ever occurred to you that whatever you are after might not bethe best choice? Maybe you rushed into it on impulse without thinking it through properly. Now you are so focused on getting it, that you are blind to the fact that it is actually a huge mistake.
Sometimes, we convince ourselves that it is the right thing when it is not. Our judgment is clouded by what we want and we can’t see what is best. We fool ourselves into thinking that it’s the perfect opportunity. But is it really?
What is the driving force behind our decisions? Is it want or need? Are we using our ego to make decisions rather than rationalizing it first? Think twice before you go for that opportunity because you might just be setting yourself up for a fall.
6) Slow Down, Go With the Flow
How many times have you tried to rush a gorgeous cut of meat only to end up with a dry piece of shoe on your plate? Patience is a virtue, which I’m sure only Mother Teresa had. We like to rush things along to fit into our lives and our schedules.
Some things take time. It’s as simple as that. You cannot rush the things in your life to suit you because that’s just NOT how it works. If you rush it, you’re going to end up with a disaster on your hands. Be patient and slow down – or you will end up missing a crucial step.
It takes nine long months to grow a baby. You cannot pre-order them and you cannot press the fast forward button. It is an amazing process in which a little person is growing each week. Without that whole process, do you think we would value human life as much as we do?
The little steps are important, so don’t worry and enjoy them while they last.
7) Don’t Stop Believing
We are our own biggest enemies. We sabotage ourselves and set ourselves up for disaster.
Why do we do this? We set impossible goals and then berate ourselves for not reaching them. On the other side, we don’t bother to set goals and just float through life aimlessly. We settle for things that are comfortable and then we stay there forever.
Each and every one of us is capable of something amazing. We need to want to do it. We need to want to make a change, and accept the things that cannot be changed so that we can move on. We are so afraid of failure that is just easier to not do it. We are withholding ourselves from great things because we are scared of failing.
You will not know if you can do something unless you try it. So don’t worry! Give yourself the chance to try something before deciding that you cannot do it. You will be surprised at what you can do in the end. Give yourself a daily dose of Vitamin B-elieve!
